Help and contact

Contact support@dailylifeapps.com with your device model, iOS version, app version, and a short description of the issue. Please do not send private journal pages, recordings, or an exported journal. We cannot see your journal through the app and do not need it to help.

How does a day become a leaf?

Write or dictate a journal page and save it. Each day with a saved page grows a leaf on that month's tree. You can keep more than one page on a day, and add pages for earlier dates. Turn the month tree and touch a leaf to revisit its day; the year view brings your monthly trees together.

Do I need an account, and does my journal sync?

No account is needed. Your journal is stored locally on your device. Daily Seed does not currently offer cross-device journal sync. Your iPhone's device backup settings and copies you export yourself are separate from app-level sync.

Can I speak instead of typing?

Yes. Choose your recognition language under You → Speaking, then use the microphone when writing. Voice recordings and speech-to-text are separate features. Recognition availability depends on your device, iOS version, language, and installed Apple speech models.

The setting Send what I say to Apple is off by default. Leave it off for on-device recognition where supported. Turning it on selects Apple's server speech recognition, which sends audio to Apple for transcription. This also applies when transcribing saved recordings. On supported iOS versions, a missing on-device speech model may need an internet download.

Where did my sealed letter go?

A sealed letter stays outside the ordinary book and search results until you open it on or after its chosen date. Find it under Sealed letters. Opening it returns it to your book.

Sealing is an in-app presentation feature, not encryption. Exported journal copies include sealed letter text, so store and share those files carefully.

What is free, and what does Plus add?

Daily writing, speaking, monthly trees, the year grove, sealed letters, the library, the Privacy Centre, and journal-page export are free. Evening check-in is free too. The free media allowance is one photo and one voice recording per day.

Daily Seed Plus adds ten more guided pages, custom templates and feelings, unlimited media, deeper insights, and the bound-year PDF. The app shows the current products and prices supplied by Apple before you purchase.

How do I export or bring journal pages back?

Open You → Privacy centre → Export a copy. Keep the whole exported folder together: it contains journal.txt, journal.json, checksum.txt, and the selected media. To import, use Bring a copy back and select the folder; unzip a compressed copy first.

This is a journal-page export, not a complete app backup. Separate notes, preferences, your optional name, and custom templates are not included. Copies are not encrypted and include sealed letters.

Import can add missing pages or replace existing journal entries and their attachments. It may skip additional pages on the same date and does not guarantee a lossless restoration of every attachment. Keep your original export, check the imported pages and media, and do not delete your only copy. Replacement changes existing journal entries.

How do I protect or delete my journal?

Enable the optional app lock in You. iOS handles device authentication, including device-passcode fallback. There is no separate Daily Seed account or app-password recovery service.

Delete individual pages or notes using their delete action. Deleting a page also removes its associated local attachments. Deleting the app removes its local data, so keep any copies you want first. Previously exported files and device backups may remain elsewhere; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Why am I not receiving reminders?

Enable Quiet reminder, choose your reminder time, and allow Daily Seed notifications in iOS Settings. The app schedules one local daily reminder, not a server message. Check notification settings and Focus settings if alerts are not appearing.

How do I restore purchases or cancel Plus?

Use Restore on the purchase screen to check purchases associated with your Apple Account. Restoring purchases does not restore journal pages.

To manage or cancel a subscription, open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Daily Seed. Apple handles purchases, billing, and refund requests. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
